The Proposal

I had a chance to attend an advanced screening, but was lazy in writing this, so you get it after wide release. But hey, at least you are getting it right?

Simply Romantic Comedy, boy meets girl, boy hates girl, boy and girl get thrown together in awkward situation, boy loves girl. We have seen it a hundred times played out in many ways with multiple actors.

However, we have not seen it with Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock. The two of them are an amazing pairing. The chemistry between the two is electric and comes off the screen to touch you. The dry wit of Reynolds is fun to play off of Bullocks genius at not only comedy but physical comedy as well.

I have since watched The Proposal again with Megan in Vegas and laughed as much the second time as I did the first.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Betty White in all her glorious comedic self literally steals the show at some points.

Introduction

I have a guilty pleasure. I love going to the movies. I love sitting in the quiet and escaping into another world, I love the popcorn and the soda (mmmmm the large refillable Diet Coke mmmmmmm) and the feeling of nothing else in the world mattering for 2 hours.

My favorite movie theater is the AMC 16 here in Burbank. AMC has the best amenities (did I mention the refillable diet coke?), the seats are comfy and the armrest goes up so I can put up my aching knee, and they have the best frequent flier program. For every ticket you buy you receive 2 points. I joined their program about 10 years ago and have accumulated over 700 points so far. DO the math, that works out to 350 tickets. Of course I used to buy multiple tickets to movies when the kids were younger so it doesn't quite work out to 350 movies for just me. By the way this is NOT a sponsored post (although I am open, hint hint).

In the Screening Room of Adrienne's House I will give you my opinions on movies that I see. Some will be movies I have paid for and some will be free screenings. ALL OF MY OPINIONS WILL BE HONEST! Free movies do not sway me (free Diet Coke on the otherhand.....I kid!).

You will not find however any reviews for movies that scare the shit out of me. I scare easily and sill even close my eyes and ears during their previews. So if that is your interest (Hi Megan!), sorry.

I will try to keep a running tab on movies coming up and will look for a widget that can help you find showtimes and what not in your own areas, but I am not that techy. If anyone has suggestions or offers of help I am always open. If you would like to submit a review of your own (I would love someone else to do the scary ones!) please email me and let me know.

In the infamous words of Siskel and Ebert "The Balcony is open".
